The Paris Olympics opened last night with what many have described as a Rue Paul Drag Race show. I thought it was the largest ideological trans-worship act in the world's history.
It would be easy to not say anything about this. The spectacle itself is designed to silence people and presume anyone offended, upset, or distressed who makes a comment is a bigot. Such is the nature of performative lasciviousness.
I was not shocked by this. What is there left to be shocked about in our modern world? This display was not accidental but was carefully planned. I was, however, disturbed and saddened by it for the following reasons:
Would any other religion have been mocked in this way? We all know the answer is no. And the reasons why are telling.
This was a literal rubbing of genitals in the face of viewers with a blue makeup Greek God Dionysus, the god of wine and pleasure, gyrating before the perverted Last Supper.
This is how Paris and France want to be and will be remembered for the Olympics.
This was an act of desecration of the Olympics. An ideological trans worship act was seeking to subvert an event in which we have men's and women's sports around biological realities.
This was a moment and artefact of the condition of our modern world today. It was a high point and manifestation of something seriously awry. It was a celebration of dissolution and the return to the paganism of the original Olympics.
Hypersexulisation was on display with no warning, and children all around the world were watching.
The gas-lighting by Christians/Post-Christians/Ex-Christians of false equivalency with ‘why aren’t Christians as concerned with climate change/Gaza/[insert issue here].
The Christian/Post-Christian/Ex-Christian masochism/sado-masochism of ‘Christians deserves this’ due to the behaviour of Christians in history.
The cross of Christ was a scandalous symbol of torture and Roman power. A power that claimed control of its citizens' bodies with the ability to abduct, abuse, torture and kill its people. The Paris Olympics were an analogous display of power and control over bodies by trans ideologues. The young child present at the centre of their corrupted Last Supper is a warning of a cult that controls the bodies and identities of young people.
Regarding my own faith, I am not offended. The cross of Christ transforms all things, including this event. It is big enough to take into itself everything that seeks to disrupt, dissolve and destroy it. That scandal disrupts all other scandals, including this one.
The mocking of Christianity does not undermine our faith. It reveals the paucity of the ideology that seeks to do so.
Thanks Jase!
Simply well stated.
Love you my friend.
